It sucks. It’s 1am and I don’t want to waste a xanax on this. I hate my anxiety issues. The slightest bit of mental stimulation and I’m out of commission. Any anxiety-reducing methods and tips?

Become deeply religious. Your anxiety producing thoughts will give way to peaceful thoughts. I had the same problem for a long time and becoming deeply religious (making it a hobby) changed my life and now I am a very relaxed.

If you don’t want to take meds, then you need to find a way to calm yourself down… maybe by watching something funny, or by writing… something to get your mind off of your anxieties. Good luck.

YOGA!!
my ex has bad social anxiety…we’re both teens so it’s hard to get some prescription drugs like xanax…so you got lucky! but i think you need to go back to your doc and talk about getting on antidepressants…my ex took zoloft and it helped her a lot….xanax is very very addictive….you can take some cold medicine…you may not have a cold, but it sure helps [took some last night after 2 day sleep deprivation so i feel for ya]
yoga helps calm your nerves down becuase you are meditating…so look up some yoga exercises and also some “breathing exercises” if you live on your own, take a bath with candles around ya with the lights off…or just close your eyes and take a deep breath count to 10 and breath out through your nose….do this a few times
those things should help you

It is best to treat anxiety attacks nutritionally. Most people with anxiety attacks are found to be hypoglycemic,. This is a sugar-handling problem and can be treated by going on a hypoglycemic diet.

What i usually do is i take a deep breath and count to ten. Then i will ask myself if i should really be anxious right now? I try and talk myself out of it. I know it sounds kinda strange but it really works. Also try a cup of decaf tea and take a bath. It really helps relax you.

Im going through alot of anxiety myself. I have my first visit with a psychiatrist coming up on Wed. But what really helps me out right now is saying Bible verses in my head or singing Christian music in my head or out loud. good verse is Fear not for I am with you (Isaiah 41:10) & a good song for me is “you never let go” by Matt Redman.

okay, follow me….. breath slowly….. deep breath in….. hold it…. deep breath out. Repeat this 10 times, or longer if you need to. If a movie is making you freak out and have anxiety, I find it helps if with each breath, you name a comedy movie and think about it. Like ” deep breath in…. man, robin hood men in tights was a funny movie… deep breath out… deep breath in….. wedding crashers was hilarious….. deep breath out….” I’ve suffered from anxiety for a long time, and I went through a phase where if I got into a movie enough, I would almost think I was part of it. Really sucked when I watched scary movies, cuz I would worry about which killer was coming after me. Basically, whatever is giving you anxiety, think of something along the same lines, a movie or song or whatever, and then think of the opposite genre of what’s giving you anxiety. I used to get anious when I listened to certain songs…. so I’d think of another rock or rap song, but one that was funnier. And I always calmed down. It worked for me, hope it works for you.
